Insourcing: When outsourcing is not the perfect answer.
Take control of your art, business, and life. Outsourcing can look like the ideal, but it may not have all the answers and may not work for everyone. Through insourcing, one can maintain complete artistic control and free up more time, allowing you to concentrate on the important aspects of your business and your life. Peter & Whitney Carlson will describe how insourcing will work for both new and established studios. They will explain how hiring a staff can increase revenue in a down economy. They will also share why employees can save you money while increasing your workflow.

Anna & Spencer Clark
Wednesday, November 4, 10:20am – 11:20am
Building a community is more than networking
Building a community is more than networking; it is sharing who you are with others to become a better person, a better professional, and a better photographer. In this session we will cover different aspects and the importance of building a community - from going to the Pictage User Groups (PUGs) and monthly dinners to starting up movements like Beyond the Wedding and Beyond the Shoot in your area. In addition, we'll discuss the importance of becoming involved in online communities to broaden your views and learn new techniques.
Bio
Anna and Spencer are wedding photographers based in Atlanta, GA. They have been married for almost four years and shoot weddings with an equal relationship - no primary or secondary. They each have their strong points and differences, but typically agree on how they want their images to look and how to run their business. They attribute this to the fact that they started their company, learned about photography, and developed ideas together at the same point in time. They both love the subject matter and meaning of weddings, but first and foremost they address their business as a business. Recently, they have become more involved with building communities through efforts such as Beyond The Wedding and organizing local meetings. |
