Preparing your images for upload through DEC

  1. In your computer, create a new folder named as the event ID
  2. (Optional) Assign categories to your images by using subfolders within this newly created folder (see below)
  3. Copy/move the images to be uploaded inside the folder

 

Assigning categories to images

  1. Categories make your event easier to navigate by letting users jump to specific parts in the event.
  2. Create subfolders inside the event folder using the following syntax xx_Category Name, where xx is the two-digit “placement” number of your category.

    For example, if you have the categories 03_Reception, 01_Getting Ready, 02_Ceremony, the order of the categories when they are posted online is 01_Getting Ready, 02_Ceremony, 03_Reception

 

Selecting and submitting your event within DEC

  1. Once you have logged in DEC, select the event folder by using the directory window within DEC
  2. Click on the event folder then select “Add for transfer”
  3. Click on “Continue” Select “Submit Event for Digital Express”
  4. Choose your color correction option Hit “Upload Events”
 
Frequently Asked Questions

When trying to login, I keep getting an error message stating that the information I had entered is incorrect. What am I doing wrong?

When entering your FTP username, make sure that you use lowercase letters (i.e. xt002)

 

Can I submit my RAW files through DEC?

We no longer accept RAW files. Please view member discounts for partner deals and discounts for these services.

 

I don’t remember my FTP login, how do I obtain this information?

I downloaded DEC but it seems to freeze during installation. Why is this?

Make sure that you are using the latest version of JAVA:

 

Do I have to submit my event at Pictage.com after the upload is complete?

If you selected the Digital Express option in DEC, the upload and submission process is combined and you will not need to log on to Pictage.com to submit the event. If however, you used the “Full Service” option in DEC, then you will need to finalize the procedure by logging in to Pictage.com and submitting your event.
