July 30, 2009: Version 1.3 includes the following enhancements:

  • Added links to reset web and FTP passwords.
  • Improved cover photo selector page performance.
  • Expired events are now selectable.
  • Added filter for event dropdown.
  • Added "busy" indicator in between mouse-clicks.
  • Minimum filesize check has been changed to 700KB.
  • Updated the minimum filesize pop-up to now list the problem files.

July 1, 2009: Version 1.2 includes the following enhancements:

  • Ability to sequentially upload multiple events.
  • New upload confirmation page.
  • Updated upload tracking to support multiple uploads.
  • Added checks to ensure event is submitted after upload.

 

May 28, 2009: Version 1.1 includes the following enhancements:

  • Ability to send replacement images.
  • Added options for Event Settings when scheduling an event.
  • Fixed issue where PUT may upload hidden files.
  • Fixed issue where during a disconnect, PUT creates an "uncategorized" folder in the user's incoming/event/ directory.
  • Added a thumbnail preview when browsing for images to be uploaded.

Minimum System Requirements

  • MAC: OS X version 10.4 or higher, latest Java for your Operating System, Firefox or Safari web browser
  • PC: Windows XP or Vista, Internet Explorer or Firefox web browser
    NOTE: Web browsers other than the ones listed above will not work (e.g. Google Chrome)

How to Install

  1. Click on “Install PUT Now” above.
    Note: If you are prompted to install Java, do so, then click on the Install PUT Now button again after the Java installation is complete.
  2. Mac users will need to install the latest version of Java (procedures are outlined below).
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. During installation, if you are asked “Do you trust this certificate”, select “Trust”.
  5. Mac users will be prompted to select the install location of the PUT shortcut (typically inside the "[harddrive]/Applications" folder).
  6. In Windows machines, the shortcut is automatically installed in the Start Menu.

Troubleshooting Installation

Windows Users

If you are experiencing installation issues, make sure you download the latest Java available for your Operating System:

  1. Download the latest Java
  2. Disable your firewall (if you have one)
  3. Then re-install Pictage Upload Tool using the button above.

Mac Users

If you are experiencing installation issues, make sure you download the latest update(s) for your Operating System:

  1. Click on the Apple Icon located at the upper-left portion of your screen and select “Software Update…”

  2. Your computer will then check to see if there are any updates for your machine. If there are, click on the “Install (X) items” button. Note: You may be asked to Restart your computer.

  3. Disable your firewall (if you have one)
  4. Re-install Pictage Upload Tool using the button above.

Uninstalling the Pictage Upload Tool:

Windows XP
  1. Click on the Start Menu and go to Control Panel -> Java.
  2. Under Temporary Internet Files, click on the “View…” button.
  3. Select Pictage Upload Tool and click on the ‘X’ icon.
  4. Go to Documents and Settings -> [Username] and delete the PictageUploadTool folder.
Windows Vista
  1. Click on the Start Menu and go to Settings -> Control Panel, switch to Classic View, then select Java.
  2. Under Temporary Internet Files, click on the “View…” button.
  3. Select Pictage Upload Tool and click on the ‘X’ icon.
  4. Go to Users -> [Username] and delete the PictageUploadTool folder.
Mac 10.4 or Below:
  1. Go to Applications -> Utilities -> Java and click on Java Web Start.
  2. Select Pictage Upload Tool, then click on “Remove Selected Application”.
  3. Go to Users -> [Username] and delete the PictageUploadTool folder.
Mac 10.5 or Above:
  1. Go to Applications > Utilities > Java Prefernces > Network Tab > View Cache Files
  2. Select Pictage Upload Tool, then click on "Remove Selected Application".
  3. Go to Users -> [Username] and delete the PictageUploadTool folder.
